The NYSA is a not-for-profit organization operated and coached by volunteers and financed by parents and sponsors. We are always open and available to listen to your ideas about improving our league so as to make the girls learning experience more gratifying. In addition, we are always in need of your continued support. Participation in the NYSA may be as involved as coaching or as straightforward as assisting in field preparation. Involvement in the NYSA will certainly reward you as much as it does our players.
The 2013 season was a great success for the NYSA with 6 major victories this year. John Kwasek and Rick Wittenberg lead both their Rampage spring teams to the Blackstone Valley League championships capturing first place in the AAA (U10) and Minors (U12) Divisions. Sean Kelly's Rampage tournament team were the U12 Uxbridge Tournament champs and Scott Dolson's Rampage tournament team were U14 Natick Tournament champs, while John Kwasek's U10 Rampage tournament team took the runner up title in the Hopedale Tournament, captured first place in the Twin Valley summer league by beating the undefeated Marlboro team and also took first place in the Bellingham Fall league. Congratulations to all the girls and their coaches for a great season. These accomplishments help to show that that the NYSA has made a commitment to offering girls a fun, competitive and successful program. Building on these successes we would like to announce tryouts for the upcoming season for the NYSA tournament teams.
Thanks to those families who stopped by to drop off food and show their support for local families in need this holiday season. The NYSA will be donating on behalf of the families in our league an estimated 50 lbs. of food. Our generous donations will be given to the Northbridge Senior Center, 20 Highland Street, for distribution to local families in need. For any questions regarding the Senior Center, please contact the Council On Aging at 508-234-2002.
Construction of the third field at our Linwood complex has begun. Members of the NYSA Board of Directors began clearing the area where the backstop and dug outs will be located once Linwood Field three is installed. The project will be another significant improvement at our Linwood complex and will allow for more age groups to play in Linwood as well as put the NYSA in a great position to begin hosting tournaments at our own fields. Thanks to the families and sponsors of the NYSA who make improvements to our league possible.
