The NYSA is a not-for-profit organization operated and coached by volunteers and financed by parents and sponsors. We are always open and available to listen to your ideas about improving our league so as to make the girls learning experience more gratifying. In addition, we are always in need of your continued support. Participation in the NYSA may be as involved as coaching or as straightforward as assisting in field preparation. Involvement in the NYSA will certainly reward you as much as it does our players.

Player safety is our first priority. Beginning in 2015, all head coaches will be required to complete an on-line Concussion Protocol course. This course, upon completion, will give every head coach the education they need to properly identify concussion symptoms and the proper protocol that follows. Without a certificate of completion, they will not be able to coach. This is a FREE course that is not just available to coaches, but parents and guardians as well. We encourage everyone to educate themselves on this very important topic. Just click on the image below.
Team and individual photos will be taken on Saturday, April 4th at the Whitin Community Center. This year the NYSA is offering a six week fall softball program for kids in our U8 (AA) division. This is a first for our league and the goal is to help the girl prepare for their move up to the U10 (AAA) division, where the game dramatically changes. Unlike our spring U8 program which focuses on the basic fundamentals of the game, the fall program will introduce pitching, catching, base running and some of the other concepts that are introduced at the U10 (AAA) level such as balls and strike, three out innings, and advancing multiple bases. This season the league will be made up of four teams, two from Northbridge, and one from both Uxbridge and Douglas. Games will be played on Saturday afternoons with the teams rotating fields.
Registrations are currently closed for this season but if you would like further information regarding next years fall program please contact the NYSA.
Good luck to all the girls and we hope you enjoy this new and exciting program.
Construction of the third field at our Linwood complex has begun. Members of the NYSA Board of Directors began clearing the area where the backstop and dug outs will be located once Linwood Field three is installed. The project will be another significant improvement at our Linwood complex and will allow for more age groups to play in Linwood as well as put the NYSA in a great position to begin hosting tournaments at our own fields. Thanks to the families and sponsors of the NYSA who make improvements to our league possible.
